Erin & Jon's Wedding 18 April 09

Wow, almost up to date with my blog - it won't last but I am going to try harder I promise.
Last weekend we got to share an absolutely perfect day in the Lockyer Valley with Erin and Jon. With stunning weather, a fantastic location at Jon's parents' farm and a really fun-loving bridal party we were able to capture some fabulous imagery, both with stills and video!! The ceremony was conducted by Shona Anderson who always presents a beautiful service and the backdrop of the farm and mountains behind really was magnificent and Erin and Jon had some great props for the photos, not to mention the great rural scenery that always makes great photos.
Gatton RSL put on a superb reception and Vince at Veetone did his usual fantastic job as DJ, really getting people up on the dancefloor and if we could have we probably would have stayed for the party!! Thanks Erin and Jon - we had a blast!!

The Radke Family 17 April 2009

One of the most rewarding parts about being a photographer is being invited to share major milestones with families and it's even more rewarding (and quite humbling), when they invite you back into their lives again and again. We photographed Scott and Susan's Wedding day in February last year and captured some really stunning imagery for them and so we were very excited when they called up and asked us to come out and photograph their newborn twins, Sienna and Lane. Scott and Susan were so relaxed despite having 8 day old twins to look after (we were way more stressed with just one baby to look after when Zoe was born!!) and the stars of the show, Sienna and Lane, were very well behaved and seemed to revel in all the attention and there are some great shots for the family album!

Assmushausen Winery Break April 09

After a very busy weekend at the start of April, we took the opportuntity to get away during the week before the Easter rush and headed down to Warwick to stay at the historic Assmushausen Winery. Whilst no longer in producing wine (very sadly!!), Assmushausen was one of the very first wineries in Queensland and current owners Bill & Sue have lovingly restored the homestead and preserved the production facility and now offer very relaxing and enjoyable stays at Hope Cottage on the property. Bill has done an enormous amount of research into the history of the winery and it was fascinating to see the old photos of the place in it's heyday, with vineyards extending over an enormous area. With Leslie Dam and a couple of great country pubs in close proximity we all had a fantastic time and can thoroughly recommend it as a fabulous spot for a short break.

Megan & Darren's E-Shoot 05 April 2009

Nadine had a rather busy weekend at the start of April, having photographed two weddings in Ipswich on the Saturday and then backing up with Megan & Darren's E-Shoot at the studio on the Sunday. Nadine will be photographing Megan and Darren's Wedding in early May and you can see more of the imagery and read a bit more about the shoot on her blog.

Ipswich International Hotel Weddings 04 April 2009

Whilst I was shooting Jason & Greta's location photos, Nadine had to dash away down to Ipswich to photograph TWO weddings on behalf of the Ipswich International Hotel who had commissioned us to capture some imagery of real weddings for use in their marketing materials. Despite having had to deal with the same weather dramas we'd being having out in the Lockyer Valley both sets of couples were eager to extend their photography sessions and Nadine captured some really fabulous imagery which will be appearing in Ideal Bride later this year and in some other material for the hotel. We'd like to thank both the couples involved for their patience and also to their own photographers, particularly Steve at Urbaneyes, for letting us impose on their time.

Greta & Jason's Wedding 04 April 2009

The first Saturday in April (where has the year gone!!) found us out and about in the Lockyer Valley again for Jason & Greta's Wedding. We've known Jason and Greta for a long time and it was a real privilege to be able to shoot their special day. The weather was on and off all day - beautiful sun at points and overcast and spitting rain at other times - but nothing could dampen the spirits and Greta & Jason and their Bridal Party had a fabulous day. After a lovely ceremony at Narda Lagoon (conducted by Jenn Stephens, one of the very best celebrants we know) we headed off for a few different locations around the valley, including Branell Homestead which was stunning as the evening light began to fade. By the time we reached the reception venue the it was pretty dark, but the gatton Golf club has some rather good external lighting and we managed to get a few more night shots before Greta & Jason went in to enjoy a great party. Thanks for inviting us to be part of your day guys - we had a great time!

Michelle & Paul's E-Shoot 29 March 2009

Michelle & Paul are one of our Brisbane and we spent a very enjoyable Sunday lunchtime shoot with them out and about around Brisbane. For their wedding in May we are going to be shooting in and around the CBD and Michelle & Paul wanted some different backgrounds for their E-Shoot and so after nipping past the Hawthorn Ferry Terminal we headed out to Manly for some shots down by the water. It was a stunning day, albeit rather windy, and we had a great walk around the foreshore and captured some great imagery for Michelle & Paul. E-Shoots are a really cool way for everyone to get to know one another and for the couple to get used to being the focus of attention for a couple of hours. We tend to find that the couples who choose to do the E-Shoot are MUCH more relaxed on the big day and have the confidence to try lots more poses and be more adventurous with the imagery which means you get even better photos.
