Melissa & David's Wedding - Sat 4th July 09

The first Saturday in July found us heading up to Toowoomba for Melissa & David's Wedding. After a week a fairly wild windy weather which had us nervously watching the forecasts again, the big day dawned bright and sunny but still rather chilly. There was no chill in the air when our team of four arrived for Bridal preparation shots though - the excitement of the day (and the air-conditioning set to 23!) making sure it was a warm welcome. Melissa & her Bridesmaids all looked stunning and we captured some great shots before heading out to the Japanese Gardens for the ceremony. With a lovely service down by the lake conducted by Jenn Stephens, one of the very best celebrants, we then moved on to photo's around the gardens.
Even though it was sunny, with the wind chill I'm guessing the temperatures much have been around the 8-10c mark and the girls were very brave to keep smiling when they must have been so very cold. I think everyone (including our team!) was glad to hop into the cars for the trip up to Picnic Point for more photos. As the sun was starting to set we headed back down into town and to the Railway Station for some final photo's before heading back to the reception at the Burke & Wills. Once everyone had thawed out the reception kicked off and a great time was being had by all with an excellent band, the Jackrabbits, providing the entertainment as we headed off. We'd like to thank Melissa, David & the Bridal party for being such fantastics sports and keeping going with the photo's when it would have been much easier (not to mention warmer!!) to head off to the reception early. You've got some amazing imagery to remember the day and we had great time capturing it.

Face of Daisy Designs 2009

As I mentioned on the blog a few weeks ago, we've been heavily involved in Kelli's Daisy designs Face of 2009 over the past few weeks and can now show you some of the imagery from the workshops and the Gala Grand Finale held on Monday 6th July 2009. For the girls involved it was the opportunity of a lifetime to really learn about themselves and the world of modelling with workshops on hair, make-up, deportment and self-development. The whole event culminated with the gala finale evening in front of nearly 300 people with great entertainment and fabulous staging. Veetone did a wonderful job with the sound, lighting and video and Ben & Stephen from the Knighthawks provided a great spectacle with their laser show before the girls did everyone proud with their catwalks. In the end, they were all winners, but Tayla took the crown and will be the Face of 2009 whilst Krystal became Miss Photogenic - you are bound to see more of both of them on the blog in due course!!

Misha & Patrick's Wedding - Sat 27th Jun 09

The last Saturday in June found a team of four heading up to Redcliffe for Misha & Patrick's Wedding. After another week of dreading the weather forecast, the day turned out much better than expected (although not as warm as we would nave liked!!) and gave us near perfect conditions for a beachside wedding and location shoot. Misha & Patrick had taken the sensible option of an indoor ceremony at Sails at Sutton Beach which everyone the chance to stay warm before heading outside for the photo's. Some lovely late afternoon sun gave way to a delightful sunset and we were able to capture a really stunning raqnge of imagery on the beach and then on the pier at Redcliffe before heading back to the reception to thaw out!! We had a great time and you'll be able to see some video highlights of the day on Nadine's blog soon.
