After a wonderfully relaxing break it was straight back into work on the first Saturday in January. Tracey and Ryan are a Sydney based couple who chose to get married up here in beautiful Queensland. Tracey's family live at the Sunshine Coast and she chose the stunning Hyatt Regency at Coolum for her dream day. Tracey looked absolutely stunning in her gown, but sadly the weather decided not to play along and it rained solidly from early afternoon until well into the evening. No-one was going to be deterred by the rain though and Tracey and Ryan enjoyed a very moving ceremony before we all trundled off in the resort's golf carts for the photos. The Hyatt has some great undercover areas with beautifully natural backdrops that are perfect for photos in situations like this and we made great use of them before returning for the reception and one of the best spreads I have seen presented at a function venue - truly 5 star! After some great speaches, Nadine was able to capture some really memorable video footage as the party got underway and people started to let their hair down. we had great fun and would like to thank Tracey and Ryan for letting us be part of their special day.
Christmas 2008 - Home and the Bunya Mountains
After a very busy lead up this year, Christmas finally arrived and we were actually able to take some real quality family time, first at home and then up in one of our favourite spots - at the Bunya Mountains - for a few days. Even though we have the best job in the world, it's good to take a break every now and then and wind down, even if we still end up taking loads of photos!! When you are lucky enough to be a photographer it is really good to do something different every now and then, just to keep your hand in, so for me, having the time to do some natural history work is always appreciated and the Bunya Mountains are the perfect place with all manner of wildlife and stunning temperate rainforest on your doorstep.
Of course when your daughter believes she should be on the nest series of Australia's Next Top Model or some similar show it can be hard to ignore requests for a "photo shoot" so there was plenty of opportunity to keep our hands in on the day job too!!
The eagle-eyed amongst you may even spot me in the one of the shots below which Nadine took. For those more optically challenged, I'm the one swinging Zoe on her new swing - a labour of love created before Christmas - which has gone down very well and which adds to the range of props that we have around the studio gardens.

Starlite Dancer's Concert - Sun 7 Dec 08
As our Daugther, Zoe, attends the Starlite Dancers School, we were asked to do the video and to produce a high-quality DVD presentation of their annual concert and prize giving ceremony. Nadine and I did a two-camera shoot and I managed to grab some stills for the covershot and the DVD. Because we were busy, Nadine's mum helped with the costume changes and Zoe had an absolute whale of a time - loving every minute of the performance!! The concert was excellent, with some really well choreographed routines and some truly touching moments. The video looks and sounds superb and Zoe has been watching it continously since!!
Viv & Terry's E-Shoot 6 Dec 08
Viv and Terry came down to the studio having won their E-Shoot at a Toowoomba Bridal Expo earlier in the year. We shot a range of looks, both under lights in the studio and in the natural late afternoon light outside in our studio gardens. Nadine did some great make-up for Viv and both she and Terry really enjoyed the shoot and the opportunity to play up for the camera.
Santa Photos - Nov & Dec 08
It's a bit of a tradition now that we do Santa Photos during the lead up to the holiday period. Santa kindly takes time off from his busy schedule to come along and all the children get lollies and the chance to have their photo with him. We love doing the photos because we love seeing the kids reactions and it really gets us into the Christmas spirit :-)
Bec & Will's E-Shoot - 8 Nov 2008
After an appallingly slack period without any updates I am now frantically trying to get up to date after an enormously busy pre-Christmas rush!!
I'll start the updates with Bec & Will who came to studio in early November for their E-Shoot. Will works overseas a lot and Bec lives right out at Mitchell and we are shooting their wedding out there at the end of January which will mean a fantastic road-trip.
