The ALRC carries out independent inquiries into various aspects of the law and provides suggestions for law reforms to the Federal Attorney-General. Their most recent investigation looked at what topics would be most suitable for future inquiries over the next 5 years and was released at an event at the Federal Courts Building at the start of December. The keynote address was made by the very first President of the ALRC, the Honourable Justice Michael Kirby, who oversaw the inception of this important institution in 1975...
