Yes, it's official, weddings are back and whilst they're not yet able to be quite the same fabulous gatherings they were just a few short months ago, it's not going to be all that long until they can be.
With COVID-19 soon to be a distant memory though (at least here in Australia and New Zealand), the restrictions that kept weddings almost unfeasible are gradually easing, with current legislation allowing gatherings of up to 13 (the couple, the celebrant and 10 guests). But even better is the Government's recovery plan that will see gatherings of up to 100 permissible by July (fingers crossed, touch wood...), which should mean that most couples booked for the second half of the year won't need to change their plans too much. The re-instigation of unrestricted domestic travel, and the potential for a trans-tasman "bubble" along similar timeframes, also opens up the possibility for destination weddings and honeymoons, although, sadly, it seems like it will be a longer wait for long-haul international travel to resume.
We've been keeping busy during our lockdown with lots of little tasks we normally have to put off during a wedding season and now we're raring to go again with lots of wonderful winter weddings.
