"Propel" was the cohort's final performance and marked the culmination of three years of study for the IB Diploma, with pieces choreographed by the students themselves, their teachers and guest choreographers...

Dance is always a challenging subject matter, with both extremes of physicality and artistry, usually captured in sub-prime lighting conditions. Achieving a balance between the exertion and the beauty is one of the reasons I love shooting dance imagery so much and one that takes much practice. During my recent spell capturing the Queensland State Championships for the dance sport of Physie, the team competitions created the perfect opportunity to showcase this. With 8 participants per team performing the same choreography in a range of elegant patterns, there were opportunities to capture some incredible, split-second moments...
